Re: SC version 5
Yeah… what she said!
Since it is getting … cough … close to release, it would be nice to know the cost.

Scott.
Re: SC version 5
Hi,
One of the administrator’s told me:
‘The prices for upgrade will be available in a few days.
We will publish the upgrade prices in our WebSite.’
We’ll let’s see…
Thanks.

Re: SC version 5
I recently bought V4 and the told me (by email) that I would get a free upgrade to V5.
By the way, just talked to support in a chat session and I got this answer on the question when V5 will be released:
Jos? Arteiro: 07 December
Re: SC version 5
Well, from the posts in the main forum, they say it will be released today:
Load Google Translate: (Portuguese -> English)
enter this URL in the edit box:

Re: SC version 5
Well it doesn’t look like it released yesterday, but hopefully very soon. There are some features of V5 I would like to be using.
I wonder if at the same time, they’ll release the HelpDesk app upgraded to use V5?
Re: SC version 5
?? Eagerly waiting… When would they release V5…!
Why netmake is kept quit on this… Atleast they could publish the date when they are going to release…?

Re: SC version 5
It looks like they are trying for Dec 7 (posted in the main forum). It looks like Freezer wins the pot if this happens!
FYI, to read the main forum, load Google Translate, enter in the URL of the forum, change to Portuguese->English and read away!

Re: SC version 5

Re: SC version 5
If they do not release V5 soon, My boss may have me in the pot … with a few carrots and potatoes.

Re: SC version 5
does V5 have features that you (or your boss) really miss in V4?
Re: SC version 5
From looking at the ‘What’s New’, I am looking to use:
-Container forms for Embedded apps (Dashboard Type App)
-jQuery Support for dialogs, etc.
-Div support for popups (calendar, hints, etc)
-Flash Graphs (the current graphs are bit dated) … they will be using AnyChart in V5
-Collapse Blocks support for forms w/ many fields (and for use on searches with many fields)
-Button as Default
-And a few others they have listed.
They say there is many more, but not listed.
Hoping for: (have made requests to support)
-Check box support in the regular grid (how this has not been added puzzles me)
-Additional SQL types in the search (MySQL’s FIND_IN_SET()) to help me eliminate cumbersome joins in my searches
-Allow for custom SQL statements in search
-Quick search in grid (so you do not have to load advanced search just to find a common value)
-Delete option (icon) built into the grid
My biggest complaint in V4 is the fact that they treat the grid as a report and not a usable grid. Example: In asking for checkbox support to select multiple records, they always refer me to the Forms/Edit Grid app. Why would I use a grid and search the selected records using the grids built-in search feature and then have to load those records into another edit grid just to handle several items.
If the Edit Grid looked like a normal grid, or had search features, then I would be fine. I consider the Edit Grid a quick solution for handling a few items such as settings or preferences, not large amounts of data.
I refer to phpMyadmin. Could You imagine using it without checkboxes to manage tables/fields?
Hopefully they will have these and a few more I have not thought of.
Regards,
Scott.
Re: SC version 5
okay.
By the way, congrats, you are now an intermediate forum user and as far as I can see the most active one at this moment, respect!
Re: SC version 5
Thanks. I am not sure if I should be happy or sad … that in a matter of a few months I have blown right past the number of posts by the support team!
Regards,
Scott.
Re: SC version 5
As anyone heard if the HelpDesk application is going to be enhanced to use the new features so we have examples of how the new stuff works?
Re: SC version 5
Release V5 still… Suspense…?
Re: SC version 5
I am sure SC is working hard to get this released.
Over at netmake site, they sure are taking some heat, but I think we’re a little more mellow here.
I very much want to get SC5 but I guess we’ll just have to see. I hope they release the HelpDesk or some other full example that’s been updated to use some of V5’s features, especially the Security, but maybe by the end of the week, we’ll know more.
Re: SC version 5
In reading the main forum, it seems they are trying again for a release this afternoon, or in the evening. They were trying to correct a few bugs that were recently found. Hopefully this will take place.
Regards,
Scott.
Re: SC version 5
Even if they work hard on V5, that’s no excuse for the very poor planning, communication and support the last few weeks. Maybe this is the way they work in Brasil, it’s cetrainly not the way we are used to running a business here in The Netherlands.
Sad thing is, there’s not any indication that there will be improvements on the areas mentioned…
Re: SC version 5
New website shows V5 starting at $800 for professional ($324 for V4), with multi-project ONLY AVAILABLE in ENTERPRISE version now. If that’s $US, I could just about justify it, but definitely not if I’m limited to a single project.
