Upload does not work and gives weird error-message

Hi,

We want to extend an application with a feature, where the user can upload images to the server. This feature needs at least the more advanced upload of Scriptcase with saving meta-info in a database table.

However this upload-feature of Scriptcase does not work. After providing the database-details in the multi-upload section and trying to save the app the system gives an error-message:

It is only possible to have only one upload field

The save does not succeed and further developing this app is not possible. Searching the forum gives many many posts about the non-functioning of the upload-feature of Scriptcase.

Could this please be solved?

I had the same problem to upload and after long time I found the solution which will be manual hack and its work like charm…

check out here http://www.scriptcase.net/forum/showthread.php?4172-Image-upload-not-working-in-v7-for-both-file-and-blob-field&p=15607&viewfull=1#post15607

let me know if you required further instruction…
chaow…

thanks for your reaction. however, for a tool for which money was paid, it should not be necessary to hack it. that’s ridiculous. scriptcase should solve this!

Indeed. However, for now it might be a solution to your problem…

well, i have no access to the install of our scriptcase-system. but i’m getting the idea the manager, who has, might like this suggested hack…

This is a (very old) open source third party modul bundled with SC. Netmake should use the current version

@scriptfan: Gerard, I’ll post this to mike.
@reinhard: Would this solve the issue(s)? We are strugling with the fileupload since version 6. Eventually we have modified the v6 manually and put it readonly on our servers to prevent it being overwritten. Now we are migrating to 7.1 and there still are issues.
@both, I’ll try to get SC aware of this (again…) [just did]

Hello,

Issue reported to our bugs team.

any news on this problem, bartho? when will this be fixed?

Hello scriptfan,

I will contact our bugs team regarding the issue.

another week has passed and no cure for this problem. could you tell us, when this problem will be solved? the upload-feature of scriptcase does not work.

No … i have correct it: your upload-feature of scriptcase does not work.

Upload your app and we can look at this …

great stuff, this scriptcase stuff. now customers start to accuse each other. i’ll repeat my problem:

and to be complete:

there is no app yet. so nothing to upload. only a database table with fields mentioned under the node fields and ONE upload-field. the manual of this product is not very informative. if not useless on this point.

why does the system give the error-message:

It is only possible to have only one upload field

and doesn’t allow to save the mulitupload-definitions, which it is complaining about i should enter???

why is this error-message not mentioned in the documentation?

Reinhard, we have a lot of issues with file upload. So much that we had to fix errors in generated code and saved that read-only on the server to prevent it to be overwritten. That was in V6. There are still a lot of issues regarding upload if you search this forum. I can provide you the code of the project if you like to look at it. Scriptfan is one of our university users (like rr and me). But I’ll send it to you in private, not here public. That is, if Scriptfan agrees to it. G?

Ok, i have missed page one … sorry.

Hello scriptfan,

You should use virtual fields (as in fields created on SC) on multiupload.

That’s interesting. What are virtual fields?

Fields created in/on SC …
